UAG Monarch

I've already tested this case twice today once at the grocery store when I accidentally dropped it it hit a metal beam then slid to the tile floor. The second time was when I had to jump out of the car quickly and the phone fell out of my pocket onto the gravel parking area I was at. Both times no phone damage and no case damage whatsoever.

Glad you didn't get any damage, putting it to the test so soon.

Yes thankfully. Completely unrelated the first time I wasn't really paying attention and it slipped fell on to the grocery store for no problem the second time I ran out of my car because some dimwit left the dog park gate open and someone else's dog was about to get out of the park so I wanted to make sure that didn't happen that's when my phone went flying and landed in the gravel parking lot. This is a very nice sturdy case

I just got my Monarch case today as well and I'm thrilled with it. The silly thing was I set it up to deliver to my work because I wasn't expecting to get it until next week however it said out for delivery today Saturday my work business is closed so I drove 48 miles to the post office by my work and picked it up. Where did you buy it from?

Woudl you say the Otterbox Defender is still more protective though? It has a bigger lip.

Yes, I'd say it's a little more protective but not a lot. It's sides come up a little higher on the screens side edge, but it's also about twice as thick and bulky for that small extra amount of protection. I pulled my Defender out and used it yesterday and took it off today and went back to the Monarch. It's just to big compared to the protection the Monarch provides with the smaller form factor.

Yes the Defender probably is more protective. It has that hard plastic core and thicker rubberized outer layer, makes the phone thicker than with the uag monarch.

Not sure if the uag will fit into my road bike handlebar holder, but will see today.

I went with the Monarch this time because the Otterboxes just add way too much heft, and the Note 8 is large enough as it is. Hopefully it will provide similar protection to a Commuter, which is what I've always used in the past.

And your the one that has no screen protection?

so how are the long vertical edges by the screen? I have an incipio that is great, but it's lips are too raised by those sides, and make it really difficult to use the edge apps.
