UI 7 Things You Like / Dislike

When I tap the icon it says being used by system apps, which has probably always been the case. Only now we get this constant reminder. One plus could be that you can tap this icon and see what is using it? I think it is going to cause more concern than it elevates.
Weird, nothing happens when I touch the location icon on the status bar. Are you able to do that?

Yes. Like this.

Is recovery mode working for you? I'm holding volume up on power on and it seems not to work for me.

My home screen seems to be getting slower as time goes on. When I wake it up and unlock it there is a noticeable lag in the home screen fully populating. I might try to clear the cache partition.

You have to power off the device then when you go to power it back on, you hold the power button and volume up button until you see the Samsung splash screen and release.
I know. It doesn't work for me. Phone just boots normally.

Not to be nitpicky but the instructions quoted to hold until the splash screen then release, is technically not correct. I'm just double checking because really it's then release the power button. You must hold the volume button until the menu appears then release.

Anyway if that's what your doing and it's not working I found these instructions that appear to involve plugging the device in while booting...?

If your S24 Ultra won't enter recovery mode, it's likely due to a few factors. First, ensure the phone is completely powered off and connected to a PC/laptop via a USB cable, not just a charger. Try a different USB cable, as some may not support data transfer, which is needed to enter recovery mode. Make sure you press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons together, and then while still holding them, insert the USB cable. If the Samsung logo appears and then disappears, the cable might be the issue. You can also try letting the battery die and then attempting to enter recovery mode with the power and volume up buttons, then plugging it in. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

This video demonstrates how to enter recovery mode on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra:

It doesn't sound much different but maybe. Let us know if you still can't get in.

Plug a usb cable in the phone and try again...
Exynos models require a USB cable to be plugged into the port and the other end plugged into a PC before the phone can boot to recovery.

Even if you don't use it after the boot up. I think it just needs to see a data connection to something before allowing to boot to recovery.

Someone else may need to very if the other end actually needs to be plugged into something.

Snapdragon models do NOT require this.

I just received this update this morning and so far I do not like the rapid battery drain. I took my phone off of the charger and in 30 minutes I lost 16% of my battery, usually I lose about 2% to 3% when I first take my car off of the charger and then the battery drain slows down I plugged the phone into car charger for my 1 hour commute and used Spotify and Google maps as usual and then battery drained faster than it could charge. My battery is usually at 100% after my commute and if I plug it in the car charger but at the rate it is draining it will not make it past noon today. When I check the battery usage, the percentages do not add up to the drain. I hope this improves over time.

there's often a battery drain, for a while, immediately following an OS update. should settle back down in a day or two.

Lol , yeah Samsung now sucks , no more for me, they need to stop copying from iPhones, cause it's converted to iPhones, I won't ever go back to Samsung as they like to lie as well. But that's my opinion.
