I'm on my 6th Note (the 9 & 10+ are with family members for comparison) and I'm having blurry photo issues too, getting worried.
Also the battery life is nothing short of crap... hoping it's still learning.
Not happy so far.
In the last 2 months I've had an Oppo Find X2 Pro and then a Huawei P40 Pro + and the cameras on both were better :(
How is everyone else doing?

My note is doing good. pics coming out great. Battery life could be better but its not that bad. Im sure there will be an update sooner or later that will help battery life.

Still not enough for me to even consider returning my Note.

My photos are turning out quite well actually, I took this photo this morning and its on 20x zoom which is pretty crazy IMO.

On the other hand, yes the battery life for me isnt so great. I am getting about 5.5 hours of screen on time with 120hz, the phone on Optimized and Adaptive power saving turned on. Last night I turned off 5G to see if I get any better today, but its not looking good right now with only 43% left and only 2.5 hours of screen on time...

Are you on Exynos?

Why does the background automatically blur out on close-up shots? I got the ultra unlocked version from Samsung directly. I'm on snapdragon.

That is the bokeh effect.

I am loving the photos of the phone. Battery life is poor though

My photos are better on my note 20 than the 10 plus I traded in. Very happy so far no complaints here.

I had my battery set to high performance. I put it back to optimized. So I'm going to see how the battery drains with that.

As of right now, I can already see its draining a lot slower than with high performance.

It's due to the wide aperture of the lens combined with a larger image sensor making the depth of field more shallow compared to previous phones. The closer the camera lens is to a subject the more shallow the depth of field becomes too. Nothing is wrong with the camera or software, it's physics and how it's meant to work.

My photos are amazing. I really hope Samsung releases a firmware update to fix this battery. I love this phone too much to return it

Your photo taking skills may be the issue.

It's not always the hardware, sometimes it's the user.

I'll assume you are answering my question. My 'skills' haven't changed and I'm comparing it to a Note 10+ and a Note 9. UK version so poorer chips :( I'm assuming it's not that though, as we always have the dud chip rather than Snapdragon.
This sounds like more of the issue

Maybe part of the S20 Ultra problem too?

Yeah that is the best option

You should take a photography class. This is an attribute of camera lenses when taking closeup shots. With, closeup shots, you have to choose if you want the background or forground in focus. In cinema, director Orson Wells was one of the first to figure out how to use camera trickery and post editing to get both in focus with the legendary classic "Citizen Cane".
On the phone while using the camera app, tap the area of the image you want in focus and then take the picture.
Take a look at the two sample shots below. Notice how in one image, the mug in the foreground is in focus and in the other, the background is in focus while the mug is blurry.

Human eye does the same thing. You can't focus on something up close and far off at the same time. One will blur. Science.
