Ultra power saving mode glitch

When I turn on ultra power saving mode and try to access the messaging app my phone reboots. It does this every time I try to access messages while ups mode is enabled. Anyone else ran into this issue before?

Are you using the stock messaging app when this happens? Or are you using a third party messaging app?
