Don't be one of those people who think they have any right to tell others what is and is not appropriate for their kids, then blindly guess they're a bad parent if they don't think like you.

My 10 and 15 year olds both have Android phones. However neither of them have data or WiFi connections. When they want an app they give it to me to connect, get the app, disconnect, then give them back to the kids.

That's how I avoid these issues.

Dear Scoty,

I have a ADSL connection with WIFI at home. Can you please tell me how to remove the WIFI from HP Touchpad. I am also worried to give the TP to my 12yr old son. I would like to follow what u r doing?

Thanks !

Unless you think you can physically watch your kid's phone all the time, it really isn't hard for them to connect to a public wifi location, and 'forget' the connection after that.
At home, you can password protect your wifi network so they can't use it without your approval - but you cannot control that outdoors. You can try to install monitoring software, but rest assured - kids will figure out ways around it.

The best way would be to be open with them about why you don't agree with them having unlimited/uncontrolled access. If you force something on them that they don't want to do, they WILL figure out a workaround to get what they want.

<my opinion only>

Man and when I was a kid I used to have to dig Playboy out of neighbored garbage, borrow movies from friends or try to make out what was going on the TV through all the squiggles!

Kids today have it so easy! lol

lol I agree, it was no easy task to get your hands on some grade A filth, when I was a kid.. but now its 15 sec web search away..

The app I downloaded was listed in the Market as Live TV (Flash) made by "liryc". Is this the correct app? I didn't see one listed as "TV Flash".

Live TV (Flash) looks to be a great app. It has dozens of channels to choose from, and the picture is great (on Wi-Fi at least).

However, I didn't see any porn channels. Where are those? :-)

BTW, I'm 48 (lol).

Lol, in my mind I hear Beavis & Butthead: "You're looking at porn." "Huh-huh-huh. Huh-huh.":p

I think it's a nice tip to let parents know what apps to look out for. I think somebody could even start a thread for parents who have kids with Androids. With warnings and tips?

I also think keeping porn away from your kids today is like trying to keep rain off your roof! I saw plenty of it when I was younger and it was hard to come across! lol

And if your kid has an Android they MUST also have a PC right? A PC is WAY easier to find that stuff on than a phone!

Also... I downloaded thew app! Thanks! :)

TV FLASH is no longer available.

No longer available? I just got it from the market. I don't see any so called "mature" streams though.

I understand the concern over this app, but ultimately when internet access is out there, adult apps aren't even a drop in the bucket. A simple Google search will find more pron than you could ever look at. If anyone is determined to look at pron, than not having access to an app isn't going to stop them.

You need to talk to your kids and explain to them what things are ok and what thing aren't and why. And you need to do you best to monitor them. But ultimately you have to raise them in a way to prepare them to make the right decisions.

I call that section "the blue block" because the local Fry's locations (San Diego County) have blue shelving barriers that cover enough cover area to prevent wandering eyes seeing anything. Each cover partition has an adult warning label painted in bright white letters to avoid any confusion.

Behaviors differ location to location, but that bait and switch technique seems to be companywide.
