Un-bricking help!

So to make a long story short. I had rooted a Optimus S then not paying attention I went and did a factory reset under the privacy settings. Well that kept me in ThunderC recovery, if I rebooted it would go right back in. So after playing around some, I turned off the permissions and tried the newest update.zip I had got from sprint.com. Well it installed and now it just freezes at the LG screen. I can get into Emergency mode by pressing vol down, camera, search and pwr when I insert the cable going into the pc. I get into E-mode but not sure how I can fix this from here. I dont care if it is custom or stock, I just want the phone to work... I did install the USB drivers and tried using the LG Update Tool and no luck, even tried the recovery part of that program and it does connect but then after a little bit it disconnects.

I hope it is not perma bricked.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Chad

i tried that way but the links for the kp500 and vc cab were dead. Is the lg updater tool the samething as kp500?

I got the phone to come out of the brick lg screen. After the update finished it goes into android recovery now. When I reboot the phone, samething just goes into android recovery. I did download update.zip file from sprint.com for my phone. Can I flash it with that file?

Excellent. This is good news. Now take a breath and slow down before you really brick it.. What recovery are you running? What baseband are you on?

And what update did you pull from Sprint?
