Im happy to say I ordered the phone aug 18th and was told it would ship the 31st...I just got an email and it will be delivered tommarow fedex! !

Not only has my phone not shipped - it hasn't even been ORDERED!! NOW I'm livid. The lady I finally got said the order the other folks have been referencing when I called was actually an order for the replacement (for the store) of my daughters Envy Touch!

I can order one now and have it by 9/7.

Called Best Buy and Target so far... NO Droid X.

It's pretty sad that these companies are trumpeting these new phones to death, giving early upgrades to folks and doing everything they can do to advertise and bring people in......
....then they only have enough stock to last basically launch day. Even some who order on launch get stuck waiting for weeks. The Dinc, EVO, X, D2.....all have had this issue, right?

People are breaking their contracts to wait for a month on a phone. The rest are waiting on back orders or trying everything to get one. Just makes zero sense to me. Then, to beat it all they end up with so many bugs because they were rushed to market. We'd better be able to legally "jailbreak" these devices because this is the only way we will ever get close to the true power of these phones.

Don't feel too bad. I got mine by accident from BJ's. Just happened to call up and they had 5, by the time I got there,which was like 20 minutes later the guy at the Verizon Kiosk had his boss call and take the remaining 4 to their main store. If I came 10 minutes late I would be also waiting for this phone. Motorola really dropped the ball with this one when it comes to stocking the stores.

My X got the shutter/black screen on camera problem on Wednesday. Stopped by corp Verizon store on Wed night about 8:45PM. Was told to expect about a 3 week wait for replacement.

FedEx delivered new X on Friday morning.
