Unable to access tablet after factory reset

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet S2. I performed a factory rest so to remove all data; however, in trying to set the tablet back up, my tablet wants me to use the original account that was first synced with it. When I tried putting in the original user account and account password, the tablet does not recognize it. I am at an impass. My tablet has been factory reset, but will not recognize the original Google account it had been initially set up with, and will not allow me to continue. At this point, I have a $500 paper weight. Is there anything I can do to manually delete the user account tied to the tablet after a factory reset?
