Unable to auto rotate pictures in Gallery

I had exactly this issue and have resolved it thankfully as it was doing my head in!

Fantastic! Well spotted Gary...I don't think that I would have found this in a million years. I deleted the Gallery icon from my launcher (Action Launcher) and re-added it, and, hey presto, auto-rotate in the Gallery is working again!

Cannot find an auto rotate or portrait lock button anywhere. Looked in Settings under Display and also Gallery. Any suggestions?

@Gary Bowen - thanks a ton for your suggestion!!! I had been wrestling with this for a long time. Since I'm also using a different launcher (Apex), it was a simple matter of removing the gallery icon from my home screen, then adding it back. Not sure why this works to reset it (data cache?), but super glad that you posted your recommendation.

Thanks Gary. I use Launcher8 and the default Gallery tile had this same problem. When I remapped the app to the tile, or run it from the app list, it rotates correctly. Thanks for pointing this out.

I've used Apex on several Samsung versions and had this problem for years. Finally Gary solved this for me!!!
