Unable to find application to perform this action

Hi, I'm using Samsung j7 2016. I'm trying to open a voice a record but it a an error "Unable to find application to perform this action" is popping. How can I resolve this issue? Thank you!

Which file type are the sound files being saved in? (One gets the impression it is not an MP3 file.)
Can the recorder app also play them?
