Unable to hear message tone after system update

After latest system update I can no longer hear the message or notification tones when my phone is connected to the car bluetooth. Haven't checked with other bluetooth devices.

1st step is to unpair and forget the phone from the car and the car from the phone. Then, rescan and pair the devices as if new. Also, check your notification settings beforehand. Good luck

I get the same thing. My buddy also been getting this on this Pixel.
