Android Central Question

I cannot receive text messages I can send them but not receive them.

I get an Omacp instal message when I turn on my phone. I try to install the IMS but it "Failed to Install"

Application: IMS Failed FQDN

I previously was able to receive messages but can't anymore since I changed network providers.

However the new SIM works and receives texts when used in other phones so it is not the SIM card but the phone that seems to be the problem.

I have cleared the Cache & memory, done a hard reset and soft and tried safe mode. I still can't receive texts.

Help anyone I need to get texts rather than use WhatsApp.

I have Lebara (carrier) have said if SIM works in other phones it's the phones problem. I got them to provide a new SIM but that didn't help. Sent phone to Nokia as online support couldn't help. But they can't replicate issue as not allowed to send them phone with SIM cards it's a bit chicken and egg is it phone or is it network. But either way I'm.stuck.

Welcome to Android Central! Which country are you in? I see that Lebara in more than one country.

Have you already made sure the APN settings are correct?

Hi, welcome to AC !

Have you tried another message app?
Like google message.

Hi I'm in the UK.

I believe the APN settings are correct (as internet works) but then I have tried using different ones as some of the settings say "Not Set" for
  • MMSC
  • MMS proxy
  • MMS Port

Other settings used (following a Google)

MMSC: http://mms.lebara.co.uk/servlets /mms
MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12
MMS Port – 8799
You'll have to work more closely with your Carrier figure this out , we can few suggestions but this looks like needs in person to look at

I resolved this issue by changing network providers. It did seem to be down to the Network rather than the phone. This is odd given the SIM worked fine in other phones. But I decided if another SIM's work on my phone it has to be the SIM/network rather than the phone. So I ordered a new SIM from a new carrier and didn't put the new SIM into my Nokia until I had confirmation that the number had been transferred over. And it worked fine since then.

Glad to hear that, thanks for the follow-up
