Unable to Root SM-T210R After KitKat 4.4.2 Update

Okay, so I've tried this a bunch of times. When I'm running the stock ROM (4.1.2 Jelly Bean), I can root it perfectly fine, but when I update the firmware to KitKat 4.4.2 and then try to root it (with SuperSU pre-installed from the last time I rooted my tablet), it doesn't work.

I dunno if anyone has had this issue, and if you have, is there a fix to it?

I too had this problem and managed to fix it by going into my custom recovery (PhilzTouch 6.23.9).
Scroll down past advanced on the recovery menu and select Philz Settting, in there is the option Re-root System (SuperSU).
Select this and click yes when prompted to re-root.
When finished reboot your tablet and install superSu from the play store.(open to update the binary automatically)

If you dont have PhilzTouch try digging around in whatever custom recovery you have to see if you can find a similar option to re-root
If you cant find any option, I would try to flash PhilzTouch using Odin

I was going to post a link to download PhilzTouch but as i just registered to make this post I cannot post links ATM, a simple goolle search should find it no problem

As i have never tried to flash a new custom recovery over my old I dont know if its actually that simple, I suggest looking at the XDA forums to find the proper procedure to doing this. I would also check here for any android related problem you may have.

I really hope this helps you get your root back, the KK update was pretty much useless without it for me.

My device>>sm-t210r - rooted - PhilzTouch (6.23.9) - (CustomRom) StockRom KK Version 1.7 (unofficial t211 KK port- works great)

Also another question from since I've updated and install a custom ROM nole Kat for example all my apps would just start saying "unfortunately have stopped working" at different times even the system ui. So I did a test to check if it was the ROM so I installed it on my sister's tab which hadn't been updated and to my astonishment everything runs better on hers no stops no anything even the screen appears whiter this new update sucks is there any way to go back

Okay I think I have narrowed down what could be causing this.

First, did you update officially or by flashing a ROM through recovery?
-to my understanding if you updated officially then the new bootloader will cause some bugs in older versions of recovery, that may have caused the .zip to not flash correctly.
-I do believe that a newer version of CWM is available on XDA forums that is compatible, I would post a link here but I can't.
-Another fix may be to flash stock recovery, but i think nole Kat may have a kernel that needs to go with it. (not 100% sure)

Second, when you flashed the custom ROM did you do a full system restore before hand?
-a dirty flash between these two versions could be affecting the file system as KK changes the directory of the internal SD Card.
-this should be done from recovery menu, I would also wipe the cache and dalvik cache, you can try this then reboot normally to see if it fixes the problem, if it doesn't try installing a different 4.4.2 ROM (I use StockRom 1.7), just make sure to wipe everything again.

Now to answer your question, I do believe its possible to downgrade from 4.4.2 on the tab 3, but it would be a rather tedious task, I know it can be done on others, however I don't know the exact method to doing so, either Google or the XDA forum would be your best bet to find it.

Also, if you still have root problems there is a new method by using odin to flash the new CWM then flashing a .zip file, this can be found on XDA

Yes I did flash with Odin but I factory reset before I did so and I will try using the new recovery as well as trying stock ROM too will c how everything works out an will give u my results. Definitely will hit up XDA to check out if any new updates and info are up thanks abdul
