Unable to upload photos to my desktop

[AC Question]

I am using my Nexus 7 as my camera and am unable to see the photo files with Windows Explorer when I connect it to my desktop via the USB cable. I used to be able to see the photo files and upload them. I have installed operating system updates and suspect that may be involved. Current Android version is 6.0.1.
