Unable to use old samsung galaxy without sim card...

I have an old S4-I removed the sim card to put into my new phone. However I want to keep using my old phone-it should work fine, but it gives me this message: "SIM card removed. Unable to detect your SIM card. Your device will restart to check for your SIM card."

At that point it doesn't let me do anything but restart the phone so I'm stuck in an infinite loop and can't use my phone. Please help.

Are you able to turn on Airplane Mode?

Try booting it with your old sim, then remove it. Does it remain usable?

It might work if you can get an old SIM card.
