unacceptable certificate error

I've installed an Awei app for my earbuds
When I try to register the app, I keep seeing an error nessage:

"unacceptable certificate CN=AAA Certificate Services" (plus more that I can't see all)

Awei is in China, I live in Thailand.
I have a Samsung A25

That error is actually a TLS/SSL certificate validation failure, your phone is rejecting the app’s secure connection because it doesn’t trust the certificate chain the app is using.

The key part is:

“CN=AAA Certificate Services”

That’s a root certificate authority (from Comodo/Sectigo era), and seeing it in an error usually means the certificate chain is broken, outdated, or being intercepted.

What to try (in order)​

1. Switch networks (quick test)​

• Turn OFF WiFi
• Use mobile data
• Try registering again

If it works → your WiFi is the problem

2. Disable Private DNS (important)​

Go to:

Settings → Connections → Private DNS
Set to:

• Automatic or Off

3. Turn off VPN / Ad blockers​

If you use:

• VPN
• AdGuard
• Blokada

Disable temporarily and retry

4. Check Date & Time​

Settings → General management → Date and time
Make sure:

• Automatic date/time ON

Wrong time = certificate failure

5. Try a different region path (workaround)​

Since Awei is China-based:

• Try connecting through a VPN to China or Hong Kong

This sometimes fixes poorly configured regional servers

6. Reinstall the app​

• Uninstall
• Reinstall fresh from Play Store

If NONE of that works​

Then it’s likely:

Awei’s server certificate is broken

In that case:

• You can’t fix it on your end
• Only Awei can fix their backend

Thanks for replying and listing multiple things to try.

The only thing I haven't tried is #5.
I'm not overly technical, but assume this is because I'm using an app, not a browser?
If I'm correct in saying that, then I assume there's not much I can do?
