UnBricking, CWM and CM7

Hi,

So I have searched through the XDA and AC forums (and the CM7 wiki page) to try to get CM7 on my fascinate (rooted and ed05). The CM7 Wiki suggested using heimdall. However Heimdall refused to accept jt1134's CWM. I then surfed longer and found how to get CWM on via odin. I tried this, and got what I like to call the GSD (green screen of death) and an expensive brick. Surfing longer I found how to un-brick the phone via odin and a DL09 to flash. This worked and a shortly there after, re-rooted and read some more on odin flashing CWM. I tried a slightly different procedure. got a bit further in the flashing process, but then it stalled for 1hr on the "Get PIT for mapping" stage. I then decided to cut my losses, and tried re-flashing the DL09 (b/c I bricked again). This has been failing also at the "Get PIT for mapping" stage.

What I would like to do:
Eventually I want CM7 but I can wait. I really just want my phone back...

Any ideas or help?

(I am wondering if I need to put the atlas2.2 pit in the pit slot in odin).

also I have access to both a mac and a pc.

Ok so I tried flashing the DI09 a dozen or so times and finally got to zImage then my phone turned a bluish white. Not sure what it means. Will try again

Ok so I switched cables and tried flashing again and it finally worked. So one success out of 3. The question now is do I try again to flash CWMr or call it quits and be happy with just a rooted Verizon fascinate... I would love to flash CWMr but the wiki instructions don't make sense for Heimdall 1.3 and Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated. thanks. (the forums have been a phone saver).

So my problem was not the instructions that I was using, instead my cord was faulty. Luckily a friend had a samsung cable that i could try. problems solved. Thanks though Mtn_Scott. For those curious, i was using as instructions the links that Mtn_Scott posted here.
