I got this error today. Never seen it before.

I can still do whatever I've tried on my phone. It's just that I see this error message pop up often.

I tried re-starting my phone. I still got the error.

Try clearing the app cache and data from the Google app in Settings>Apps.

Thanks.

I tried that, and it looked like it went away for a day or two.

Today, the problem is back and showing up frequently.

When it's complaining about the Google App, is this for searching? So not Google Photos, or something else?

Can I just uninstall it?

Long press the Google app tap info > uninstall the update and don't let Google play store automatically update it and watch how it is for couple days

If it just says "Google has stopped," then yes, it's talking about the main Google search app.

After I clicked on uninstall update, the error that Google stopped working came up even more frequently.

Finally I disabled it. We'll see how that works.

It looks like it had to disable Voice Search too.

That's fine, I never used it.

Can I still do voice to text when composing text messages? I never tried that, but always wanted to.

What about when composing something else, like writing this post on a forum?

Another thing you can try is to uninstall updates to Android System Webview, since sometimes an update to this app can cause issues with specific devices.

Interesting, just noticed you have a note 4, what Android version is it on ?

Sure, trying this now. Will provide an update after it has installed the beta version.
Ok , then after you'll have to update it in play store where it says beta , next to heading will be
Apps/ installed /library/beta

you can also try wiping the cache partition. this is different from the app cache that you said you already tried

Press Power, Volume Up and Home simultaneously
Wait until the phone vibrates and then release Power and Home
You should now see the recovery screen. Use the volume buttons to move and select Wipe Cache Partition.
Press the Power button to confirm.
Select Reboot System Now and again, hit Power to confirm.
Wait until your Note 4 reboots and hope it’s fixed the problem.
