I did just as you said, and the Download Manager is already enabled, still having the problem
i've tried almost every option given here by users and still could not fix it.

How do you disable Play Store, the only options i got in my Sams Galaxy S3 are FORCE STOP and UNINSTALL UPDATES, there's not ENABLE or DISABLE options

I had to get in on this thread because I just spent the last two hours trying to figure this out. I did everything that everyone online says (other than a factory reset ... which by the way alot of people say did not help). I stopped services, cleared cache, cleared data, stopped synchs, made sure download manager was enabled (already was). So I thought back to when this problem started a few weeks ago. I went thru my app list and looked at what i installed recently. I had installed Firefox and Puffin (both are browsers). I uninstalled Puffin. And then uninstalled Firefox. The second Firefox uninstall completed, I started getting google play notifications for updates that I hadnt been getting the past few weeks. Logged into Google Play, no problem... no crashing. Problem solved. Maybe you didnt download any of those browsers, but try uninstalling a bunch of your most recent apps - I dont know why/how but at least for me - I suppose one of them were causing a conflict. Good luck.

App Manager
Download Manager
-> Enable

I didn't mean to uninstall my google play store and now it is giving me an error saying it has to stop. I have tryied clearing data and fore stopping it and rebooting my google android tablet. What can I do to fix it. I got it back installed thow.

I uninstalled my Facebook app (it was the first thing I installed) and google play is working and I am getting all sorts of updates so thank you!!! Hoping this finally fixed it because nothing else has (I've tried every tip I could find).

Edit nope never mind it did it again uuuuuugh

This method worked to stabilize the app. Now how to you make apps that are installed show up properly under the "installed" apps section in the my apps tab and not just in the all sections. Really annoying that I am missing app updates because some of my apps are not showing up as installed o my device. Really annoying.
