Had the same prob.. i resolved it by uninstall viber and disabled the stock messaging app.. install "HANDCENT SMS" app and use guys.. problem gone !!

Wow! having the same problem! wew im searching days for this problem! lol! I'm planning to go to service centers or trying to get a new unit. but I think it's because of the 4.1.2 android update. maybe some errors or something. tnx for this thread ahm. i'm using Galaxy S3 mini

Same problem here. Only started a few days ago, but now having to reboot 2 or 3 times a day. Anyone find a solution yet?

Nope, it's a bug in Messaging on Note 2's with Launcher 8 installed. We'll have to wait for an update to see if they fixed it. Good thing it only takes a minute to reboot. My BB used to take about 5 minutes or so.

I have the same problem and posted about it under the ATT Note 2 forum. The answer I got was that it was my Launcher 8
program. Not sure if any one else with the messages problem is using that but that's what I was told. I love Launcher 8 and hope a fix comes soon. I did notice if I switched to Go SMS from stock that it doesn't do it as much..

i am using samsung galaxy note GT- N7000 with android version 4.0.4

whenever i use messaging. after a few hours or sending / receiving messages. my phone freezes for about 10 seconds then the error "Unfortunately, messaging has stopped" appears. after i click ok. and try to open messaging again. all my conversations are gone. and when i try to create a new message i can not send and the same error happens. the only way to get it back working is when i restart my phone. in which case this happens 2 or 3 times a day. every effin day! so i have to restart it everytime!

i have tried the clear cache in applications, i have tried using 3rd party messaging disabling the system mesaging, still the error persist. i have tried restore factory settings, and the hard reset options, still the same issue happens. other apps, features are working fine. just except messaging,

i am calling to anyone who can help me with this issue. i fancy the jellybean update will solve the issue but the update is not yet available in my region. while the messaging error thing is bugging me to death! PLEASE HELP! ...........

Sorry I just saw this and missed this thread. I just responded to a similar question on the att note 2 forum.

If you are using launcher8 then you must force stop and disable it. It is a known launcher bug and causes sms to crash. Go to the play store for launcher8 for info (you cam read reviews).

If you are using a different launcher then please post it here.

if you have any idea about this issue with samsung galaxy note 1. wherein my phone seems to be shutting by itself. i mean from sleep mode it can not wake up. and i have to long press power button and restart since my phone wont wake up the screen wont turn on. this is happening almost everyday. if there is something. HELP.

Thanks - I've uninstalled Launcher 8 to see if this resolves the issue....we shall see!
