Since the day I got my Note, every time I've tried to access the messaging/texting function screen goes black (except for the notification bar at the top), the phone freezes for about a minute, then the error message, "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped." pops up.

Does anyone know a fix?

Thanks to a related thread, I am back in business. When I set up my Note, I was using MyBackup to restore after each hard reset. The other thread said that when data is restored, if you try to transfer too much data (i.e. backed-up text messages, etc.), it can overload the new droid's system when it's transferred causing the "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped" error. This was the case with mine and after my last hard reset, I didn't transfer the old text messages and I'm back in business and lovin' my new SG Note!

AndroidCentral Forums ROCK!

So far - I have seen one solution on this forum and that was from the last post. That post seem to indicate that if the new android system (Jellybean) gets too much stored data, the phone can begin t output messages 'Unfortunately messaging has stopped".

I currently have the very worst form of this problem. With 30 seconds of bootup and seeing the home screen, the phone goes through each application and says "Unfortunately (name of app) has stopped" after hitting the OK button. The phone then becomes completely unuseable as it will not let you do anything else except hit "OK".

Do I need to delete all of my stored text messages? Is having too many text messages on my android phone causing my problem of having ALL of my apploications stopped????

Thanks,

Thanks,

You probably don't even need to go that far. Rebooting into recovery and clearing the system cache will probably help.

Try this, following instructions for the S3: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...ing-into-recovery-mode-galaxy-s2-s3-tab2.html
