unfortunately settings has stopped

I have a galaxy s2 over the last few days I get. Unfortunately settings has stopped when my phone boots up. I also can't access settings at all get the same message. I can't think of any new apps that have been installed or removed to cause the issues. I can't even do a factory reset as I can't get in to settings to do it. Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks

You can do a hard reset, but you will lose everything. If you have music or pictures you might try copying them to your PC before you do this.

Try getting into the phone's stock recovery. (Press the volume rocker and power button for several seconds. After the screen turns off, let go of the power button but keep pressing the volume rocker until the Samsung logo shows up, then remove your fingers from the volume rocker.) You can reset the phone from there.
