Unidentified symbol in notification bar

Hi all, I am new to this but I have had this pesky little symbol on my HTC One M9 for the past 24 hours. I tried resetting my phone and its still there. Any ideas on what it might mean? it's basically that sign, but white with a black line.

That is usually "Do not disturb" mode. Check for it in settings and you can turn it on/off.

It is the "Do Not Disturb" mode. The quickest way to turn it off is to press volume up from the lock screen, which returns the phone to the previous mode (ring/vibrate/silent). To turn it on, press volume down from the lock screen; you'll get a menu with options to turn it on straight up or for a set time.
