Unknown notification

These two boxes in the left corner showed up the other day and I can't figure out why. Any ideas?

No, I'm quite sure it is not. I've cleared the cache and rebooted the phone and it it's still there.

are you running 2 accounts of something like viper or WhatsApp maybe?

I let very few apps give me notifications and disable most of them. might be worthwhile to go to notifications and turn off a few. I have only about 5 or 6 enabled beyond the ones you can't control.

I had ghost notifications from BBM and SMS (Textra) and could never find a reason, although they showed after an update. I finally did a hard reset and they disappeared. Kind of a pain to do that, but it worked.

...and when you swipe down from the top to open your notifications, you don't see anything that represents the icon?

have you tried booting into recovery and clearing cache?

That icon shows you are sharing your screen. Check Google remote access, go in the display settings, it's something right in front of you.

Go into Settings/Help... One of the help sections explains every single notification icon.
