Unknown status icon

I have a strange icon that I can not figure how what it is....its right above the ATT logo in the screen capture - any ideas?

That's the NFC logo.. ****ty that they are sticking that on every phone now.. it's fairly useless and takes up space. Only way to get rid of it is a custom rom or to turn nfc off. But really.. how often do you use nfc anyway?

Thats the NFC icon.. turn it off and it will go away

I use NFC so it annoys me. I have tags in car, on keys and on charging cradle (for one x+)
