Unlimited data sticking around?

I don't think they have actually implemented it everywhere yet -- just a few lucky regions. But it's coming for all of us...

what got me is they are charging more pre month for a 10 gb shared plan then I pay now for 3 unlim data lines and one dumb phone line. and thats even with all 3 smart phones having hot spot on all the time ( i dont but I calculated it in)

so you get unlimited min (dont care we share 700 and never go over)
you get unlimited text ( who doesnt already have that?)
you get mobile hotspot included (basically at the same rate but with more data restrictions)

so you pay more, get less, and have a higher probability of getting overages.

yes it works for some people. but for our family we crunched the numbers and found it was actually more money to share then to keep our unlimited plans.

we will see what happens when we go to upgrade in a year or 2...sprint might get some new customers, dont know only time will tell

this... its what all carriers would love to do.. and in fact have done in the past with their minute/txt plans...

I wonder what sprints stance on tiered data plans will be after they too get their LTE service up and running.
VZW didnt enable the data tiers overnight (as is apparent now)... we knew it was coming, but by the time 2nd gen 4G LTE phones where out they began clamping down on unlimited plans, and if the above is correct; that any 4G phone purchased after this summer on Big Red will cause one to loose unlimited data, its going to happen to all eventually.

Those planning on jumping ship to sprint may want to hold off untill they too are into their second gen 4G phones as well, to see if they have any plans to tier.. Why wouldnt they? Their in the business to make money too. Just staying.

Me... VZW can do what ever they want to me basically.. because in my area, they are THE best and only provider to have. Sprint? crap, AT&T? crap, T-Mo...the AOL of providers? crap. again in my area.

At one time i used almost 40gigs in a month... i'm down to 330megs +/-... start planning accordingly
