Unlock dammit!!!

A couple of times now my N1 (AT&T) will simply fail to honor the touch screen un-lock swipe. (Has also happened with the Connect the dots swipe method).

Often this happens just after I get a sms message, and nothing will get it to wake up other than yanking the battery, so 2 minutes later I can reply.

Touching the top button will light up the screen, but its like the touch screen daemon has just died, and there is no way to interact with the device, it just turns its screen off again in a minute.

Is this a known issue?

Is there any way to reboot this phone with only the physical buttons?

Press power key,volume down, and the track ball at the same time and it will reboot the phone. when you do this you have the option to hold the track ball and power key to take you to the bootloader screen. hope that helps and no i haven't had that issue. T-Mobile Nexus here received on day two. Not sure what to tell you just yet.
