Unlock screen always opens to Google Search screen

Whenever I pick up the N7 and unlock the screen, it opens to the Google search screen rather than the home screen or whatever I was using last. I'm sure I did something wrong in the settings, but can't figure it out. How can I stop this from happening?

I figured it out. I tend to always swipe up which was always taking me to the search screen. Moving it left, right or down opens to the home screen.

I'm so glad to come across your post.I have be having the same problem for over a week and no one was able to help.I was swiping up on my old tablet and old habits are hard to break.Now I swipe to the side and home screen starts up as it should.Thanks.
