Unlocked Mofel, will it ever get WiFi Calling on Verizon?

I knew going into it that the unlocked model wouldn't have WiFi calling, but does anyone know if their is any intention to update it to have it? I didn't think it'd be that big of a deal for me however I missed a call today since my basement has terrible service and didn't have WiFi calling . It was then when I realized maybe it's a bigger deal than I had anticipated..

Anyone hesr or read anything about the potential to allow it?
