Unlocked/ non vzw phone on Legacy unlimited plan fee

I was wondering if verizon got rid of the extra fee for using unlocked/non VZW phone on their grandfather Unlimited data plan.
Does anyone here with legacy udp plan on contract and using unlocked/ non vzw phone? Is there any fee for using non VZW phone?
I remember I had to pay extra ($15-20) for using unlocked Nexus 6 couple of years back,
I want to jump on Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 deal but I really don't want to pay that extra monthly fee.

I've never had to pay a extra fee. That was probably due the fact that you were out of contract. Nothing to due with you utilizing a Unlocked device. I was on a Cricket iPhone 7 that I had unlocked and never paid anything additional.

Just to clarify that you are on legacy udp plan under 2 year contract and not paying extra for using cricket Iphone7? I am aware that current udp plan doesn't penalize for using non vzw phone.

I've been using Bestbuy Method to renew my contract under legacy udp plan so I was never out of contract. I know pre 2015 VZW is pretty strict on not using vzw phone and charge extra fee, it's good to know they no longer do that.

Yep been on legacy udp since 2010 and so have my other two lines as well.

I used the Moto X Pure Edition on the Legacy Unlimited Data Plan back in 2015. There was never an extra fee for using this unlocked phone on Verizon.
