Unlocked S7 SM-G930U updates

This sucks to hear. Wish I'd bought a Verizon model but I read these after I bought the unlocked version which should get here tomorrow. I may turn around and sell on Swappa where I got it.

You can flash Verizon firmware through Odin and have Knox intact with Verizon updates.

Got December update today, G930UUEU4APL2 from a response on the samsung US community Forum:

Dear Customer,

We would like to thank you for using Samsung Mobile device and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
We take security and privacy of our users very seriously, and we are doing our best to provide security updates as quickly as possible.
For unlocked (open) Galaxy devices, we are releasing security updates with a quarterly cycle, and we expect the update for Galaxy S7 devices to be released in a few days.

Thank you very much for your patience.

This sucks so bad

In my Opinion, the best Maintained US S7s is the TMobile Variant, SM-G930T/SM-G935T. Only thing is that this has Tmobile Bloatware :(

I have a T-Mobile S7 Edge and a unlocked US S7 Edge. The battery life on the unlocked seems to be nearly double what I get on the T-Mobile version.

When the S8 comes out this spring, I may wait to see of there is an unlocked version and buy it. I can handle the quarterly updates with the improved battery life and smoother operation.

My unlocked US S7 Edge got the December patch this morning. My T-Mobile version is still on November.

Ok, guys I have a problem. I have the actual U version, and previously was activated on Sprint's MVNO (RingPlus to be specific). I took the APL2 firmware OTA yesterday, and after it went through, I lost my service. Phone looked same with all the service related value unchanged (MDN, phone number etc), however, just not picking up the Sprint service. It showed "samsung" as my provider, and could not register on the network, so no voice (hearing "you are roaming ..." for any phone call), no data, no PRL update etc. I tried a ##72786# to wipe the carrier setting, it got stuck in the HFA, then did a factory reset, still would not pass activation phase. It would try five times and stop (no reboot). In my account dashboard, still shows this device being active and all, all the info is matching. Anyone experience similar before?

This was actually the first firmware update after it was activated in any network.

Also to verify, is the MSL on this version 000000? My account shows that, but ##000000# did nothing.
