Unlocked Sensation

If I purchase the European version of the HTC Sensation, is the radio exactly the same as the one in the US version (in other words, will I have access to HSPA+)? If so, any advice on the best source to buy a European HTC Sensation?

Additionally, if I go this route, will I still get OTA software updates?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the European version does not have the 1700mhz band which T-Mobile USA uses for HSPA. Just pull out the specs on both phones and compare.

From what I can tell, the European version available on Amazon does include an HSDPA radio for 1700. Is that what I'm looking for?

I believe the European version is compatible with the US TMO bands. Just not with AT&T.

Obviously, there is a Sensation that works with AT&T. The one from Canada has the AT&T bands, so I guess there is a working AT&T model.

A T-Mobile rep told me after 90 days if service u can call T-Mobile and they will unlock the phone for you for free. Going to try it after 90 days always nice to have an unlocked phone.

If you've been with T-Mobile for more than 40 days and you don't pay full cost for the device, ask a store rep to nicely call in to Care and ask them to process the unlock for you.

I've done this with several customers who bought the phone and did it the next day (it has to register that it's been used on the network first) because they were going to be traveling soon.
