Unlocking a very old Motorola

I need to unlock a very old Motorola. It was kept unused for too long and I forgot the password. Can someone here please help?

The facts:

1. I don't know the model's name. I think it is Moto G1 but I'm not sure. It's at least 10 years old.

2. There is no "forgot my password" button when I try too many times.

3. There is no thumb reader.

4. I can access Recovery Mode. So I can factory reset it, but I really would like to avoid that. I want to keep everything intact.

5. It seems to be connected to my Wifi. There is a Wifi icon at the top. And I see two "buttons" on the screen that say, "Account action required." I know there are two Google accounts configured in it, the buttons do show the email addresses, so I am guessing that the phone is indeed connected to the Internet over Wifi.

6. Of course, I have full access to those two Google accounts.

7. I don't know if "Find my device" or anything similar is enabled in the phone. Probably not. I accessed that page and it can only detect another phone I have.

8. My computer runs Linux only so most recovery utilities out there won't work for me. I have Windows XP and W8 virtual machines though.

Is there a way? Please?

I'm afraid you're stuck. We also don't allow discussions on how to bypass security features, so if no one else on the forum has a legit suggestion, you may have to look elsewhere. Sorry!

I am the owner of the phone and, like I said, I have full access to the google accounts. There should be a way to unlock it from my google profile.

There's no remote unlock feature for phones. You can remotely lock a phone, but can't remotely unlock. I think Samsung used to have a remote unlock feature using their own Find My Mobile, but it was removed a couple of years ago.

You can probably do a factory reset from the Recovery menu, but this will wipe the phone, of course.

I realize you're the owner of the phone, but even in those situations, we don't advocate discussions on how to bypass security, because then others on the forum with more devious motives might be able to use that information for their own purposes.

If you want to unlock it like you mentioned factory reset in recovery then it will ask for your Google credentials , if you want to save what's in it I recommend you talk to the repair shop or any phone forensic places, nothing further we can help unfortunately.
