Hi all,

My wife and I are due for hardware upgrades.
My wife is with Telus and wants a silver Pixel XL, which they don't have.
I'm with Rogers, so we thought I can get a silver phone and she gets the black one, and we just unlock the phones and switch.

I understand there's a 90 day period for the carriers to unlock the phones, but I'm just wondering if any features won't work when we make the switch, or the carriers just say that to scare people off from unlocking and changing carriers?

Thanks.

Well i need to tell you something...it comes unlocked.

Yes no unlock code needed so if you were able to get the devices you just pop in your wife's sim card and off you go!

Straight from Google, they do. But from a carrier? I doubt it.

Thanks that's good (and surprising) news... One would think the carriers would lock it themselves (can they do that?)

Anyways, I'm guessing Telus is unlocked too?
