Unresponsive Screen, app or N7 issues?

I don't have many apps on my N7 and plenty of free space, but I've recently been playing this game, Dark Legends https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sts.dl&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd

I've noticed that when playing, my N7 will start to have dead spots and become unresponsive. I will have to press multiple times at buttons to get a response. I've read of the N7 having unresponsive issues and I'm not sure if this game is causing it or if there is something wrong with my N7. The unresponsiveness seems to stay around even after I exit and close the game. Reboots sometimes helps but last night the problem stayed around and I had to clear the data from the app. Also WiFi was slow last night and chrome was having issues loading pages, but after clearing the data, everything seemed to be fine and I put it down for the night.

I'm running codename android jellybean 3.6.6 rom which I haven't noticed any other issues besides after opening and playing the game.

So as the title implies, app or N7 issue?

Apparently, it's fixed in the new 4.1.2 update.

Does the update just happen, or will I get a notification that it's been updated? I've read of others updating themselves but I'm not tablet tech-savvy and, really, in no rush.

Apparently, it's fixed in the new 4.1.2 update.

Heard there was a fix but wasn't sure if it was linked to playing games but that thread confirms it. Running custom rom right now, sigh :-\

If you are stock and not rooted, an OTA should pop up in the notifications. It's being slowly rolled out so not everyone will get it at the same time.
