Unresponsive Tap + Wonky Zoom

I've had the Pixel 2 XL a few days ago and have two major issues. The first is the unresponsiveness/touch sensitivity. It usually takes two and sometimes more taps to open a link, picture, etc. The other is the inability to zoom on websites. On previous androids, I've been able to simply use the two-finger separation or pinch to zoom, but for the most part, that isn't working here. I know there's the triple-tap option, but that's not what I want to do. I simply want to be able to make text or a pic bigger and close it right back up afterward. The triple-tap is annoying. Also, I know the touch-sensitivity has been a running problem with some people; does the factory reset actually have any chance of working or is it going to be a waste of time? If it's the latter I'll just go and exchange the phone for a new one.

Thanks in advance!

What browser are you using? I normally use Chrome because it syncs with my desktop bookmarks and passwords. It zooms just fine except chrome blocked the reformat text to zoom which is annoying and makes zoom pretty worthless.

When I need to zoom on a site with tiny text I'll use opera which will zoom in on an article and reformat the text so no scrolling side to side is necessary.

On both links open normally.

Ether a phone or browser problem IMHO.

What browsers are you using? If I use Chrome the default settings don't allow zooming in/out unless I go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Force enable zoom (enable the checkbox). Then it works fine, although it's worth noting that it doesn't do text reflow in that mode.
Adblock zooms just fine with the same exception about text reflow. (There's a similar setting about zoom but it doesn't seem to make any difference.)

That did it for the zoom function - thanks so much! I use Chrome and your solution worked perfectly.

Now I just need to figure out the touch sensitivity.

Does it have the same problem in Safe mode? If so a Factory Reset is probably not going to make a difference and it'll turn out to be a hardware problem. But of course Google will want you to do it anyway as part of the warranty process.
Does it happen in the Apps drawer or only on the Home screen? Only on certain portions of the screen? Have you tried a screen tester app?
