unresponsive touch screen often

Hey my galaxy s 8.4 touchscreen goes unresponsive sometimes which is often throughout the day and when it happens I can make it responsive again by press holding the top left of the screen when I have the tablet sideways and when I do that it also someones makes the touchscreen go berserk and touch things by itself. I am using a speck stylefolio case for the tablet which does have an auto wake feature. I have reset the device multiple times with no luck. So im wondering if its a piece of software thats causing this or is my touchscreen just messed up?

Also when it goes unresponsive I can press the power button and then press it again to wake it up to make the screen responsive again

I'd take the case off, just to eliminate that. If it's not the case, it's either a bad digitizer or a loose (or bad) connector. (I don't suggest trying to fix anything internal by yourself - it's cheaper to pay a shop to fix it than to pay them to fix everything you break when you try doing it yourself.)

I bought from walmart this month. What taking it to a shop for repair be the best thing to do?

Only a MONTH OLD - return it and get a new one. But, as suggested, remove it from the case to make sure that the case is not putting undo pressure on some part of the device. And what types of apps have you installed that might be affecting TOUCH?

mostly just games like clash of clans, this problem has been goin on for a few weeks and right now its not messing up since i just installed a firmware update, will reply if it starts to act up again

Just bought my Samsung Galaxy tab pro 8.4 SM T325, and had a severe screen issue, got unresponsive and sometimes over responsive, pressing the power button to make screen off and on again resolves the issue for some time, but no permanent solution. some one told me that this tab has a bad screen touch digitizer, go replace it... looks quite expensive and risky... any help???? :'(

Did you buy it new? It should have a warranty. If used, I don't know of any solution if it is hardware.

I bought it new but without warranty, it was the remaining stock item... i think i should go for the digitizer, thanks F2 for your response.
