So i wanted to asks the experts on this site a simple question;

Is there no root method for the Evo with 2.3.3 due to HTC not releasing the software for it? Do i have this correct? And not until they do we cannot root this beast again?

You probably will not get much of a response to this as there is so many other posts regarding this issue. Read through the forums before posting please.

The thing is pretty much all the highly skilled hackers took on the Evo 3D. Leaving the OG Evo alone for the mean time. There are some now looking for an exploit on the OG Evo and some have mentioned they will work on it but don't know if they have started or not.

This is why it is taking so long to get root.

Are you serious? So this has nothing to do with HTC locking up the Bootloaders? All the great ROM makers have moved on to the new Star of Sprint? And sorry to ask, but is the Evo 3D even rootable?

There is a lock bootloader but nothing like Moto has on their. It's about the same as it always been, I assume. As with new updates those exploits get patched and they have to find new exploits.

Yes it is rootable (3D). Temp root was achieved. I'm not sure on the status for S-OFF. I know the Sensation got S-OFF and from what I read temp root works on the 3D and Sensation. So S-OFF might be possible on the 3D. I don't have a 3D and not planing on getting one so I don't really keep up to date with it.

The Unrevoked team has a Twitter that I follow and they said exciting stuff over the next few weeks. Didn't say what but I'm assuming it is something for the 3D. Who knows the OG Evo could be involved but they didn't say.

There are still rom devs working with the Evo and there has been new roms popping up mixing sense 2.1 and 3.0 together. So development is still going on. The Evo is just now the #2 phone as the 3D the newest.

I am looking at the Evo 3D but i really don't care for the 3D part of it, i read somewhere that the Evo 4G+ was coming out later on, which is a 3D Evo but without the 3D, I am keeping my fingers crossed for that one. its hard to leave HTC for me due to the developer support behind it compared to Motorola or Samsung.

I've seen the 4G+ video and its the same exact phone but without the 3D. I've seen mixed comments about it coming state side. I think it was a Korean video I seen it in. Of course its been awhile since I read anything about it, but if it does come this way I will surely pick it up.

Smokes right on all accounts. Even though we all love our OG EVO, at some point it was bound to be eclipsed by the next new and best thing. That's just how technology rolls.

Their are still some really awesome developers working on roms, themes and tweaks for our EVO's even some who have moved on to other devices and are just using their EVO's as dev phones.

Just give it sometime, it'll happen at some point in the future. Especially once the 3D gets root, their going to need something to work on.

On the 4G+ coming state side... Search the front page... I think their was a write up about it a bit ago. Didn't sound like we would see it which does kind of suck. The whole 3D thing doesn't impress me that much.
