Does anyone know if UnRevoked is working on one click root for the TB? It seems like they have all recent HTC phones covered, so assume this would be next on the hit list.

I dont feel comfortable doing adb commands - dont want to brick my phone.

They are working on it. Heard last week that they may release it this week but I wouldn't count on it. It took them a considerable amount of time to push out one-click root on the Evo and Inc.

im curious about the same thing. im really familiar with rooting and sbf'n Motorola devices. when i had my Dinc i didnt root it as i wasnt familiar with unrevoked. now that i have my Tbolt i want to root but im not familiar with ADB command either. im sure once i did it i would be ok, but i dont wanna brick my phone. so i guess its a waiting game for now:'(

good, because I know my luck, and I would end up messing up my brand new TB if I try adb.

I guess I can wait because there are not really any ROMs right now to flash anyway.

I hope Warm Z makes one soon :)

It's copy and paste. The hardest part is downloading HTC Sync to get the drivers.

i'm in the same boat OP, i don't want to brick but i desperately want root. unrevoked is the way to go for me.

I don't mind using adb, I'm just waiting for a non-destructive root. I spent too much time setting this up to start all over again.

If you're having issues with the r10 sdk, try googling android-sdk_r04-windows.zip. It's an older sdk but works and requires less fiddling. I can probably upload it somewhere if need be. All I did was extract the contents of the zip to a folder called Android under the C:\ drive and add C:\Android\sdk\tools\ to the Path in Environmental Variables. This is all assuming you're on a Windows machine.

once you downloaded all the files needed for root, do you just place them on the desktop and run the adb commands. do they get pushed automatically or do they have to be somewhere special. thats the only part im confused about

I'm confused about where to run the adb commands. Is it on the phone or on a pc application

If you have adb added to your system path where the command works everywhere, the easiest is to probably create a folder under your c:\ drive and stick the files there. Then you can just "cd" to the folder location and run all of the commands. If you don't have adb correctly in your system path, you'll probably want to place the files in the tools or platform tools folder so you can just copy and paste the commands without worrying about paths.

yeah i addded to the system path, thank you for the quick response. its what i needed to know.

Perm root?

Anyone know if there will be an option for permanent one-click root at all? I'd much rather have a permanent one-click root as opposed to temporary.
