UnRevoked??

Anyone know if there will be an option for permanent one-click root at all? I'd much rather have a permanent one-click root as opposed to temporary.

That's what unrevoked is all about... We're all waiting for the same thing

rooting was very easy if followed by it's directions. there is only one part of the process that can possibly brick your phone, and the steps are spelled out clearly.

Another noob question - will unrevoked's one-click root allow us to flash the stock thunderbolt rom that it is running right now as well as give us the option to use ROM manager to install custom ROMs?

The current root method IS permanent. There is currently no temporary root for this phone

Yes, rooting is rooting and the end result is ultimately the same regardless of the method you use. Whatever you can do with this root method you will be able to do with unrevoked. You can run stock or custom, doesn't matter. All root does is give you access to certain parts of the filesystem that the manufacturer and cell carriers normally try to lock you out of. You will recognize no difference in the way the phone feels or acts

Awesome, thanks!

Is there a way to unroot from the current rooting process?
Where do I acquire the ADB command using windows7?

you just run command prompt in windows and paste in the commands.

Ok. I'll have to give it a go in a few mins here. The TBolt is an awesome device unrooted but I do miss being rooted from the days of my X and the root apps,as well as the roms. Not to mention get rid of Verizon's crapware.

Count me in for waiting on unrevoked...the only one I really trust.

I want to root too but I'm still on the fence about using ADB or just waiting for unrevoked. If sources say by the end of the month... It's only another week or so. I think I'll survive another week unrooted

I am waiting for unrevoked because I don't want to erase all my data just to obtain root and before I can utilize Ti backup. It'll be here soon enough

To anyone who is just waiting for unrevoked to root, take it from a veteran HTC root user, youre going to want to at least have ADB set up. You will need it at some point, and its useful if you ever bork your phone. Better to have it and not use it, then to need it and not have it.

Oh and also, if you're planning to root, dont accept any OTA updates as it may kill your ability to get root for awhile, just a tip guys. I suggest rooting while ya can, ADB isnt that bad ( i was intimidated when i got started too) just copy and paste the commands.

Goodluck!

I second this, adb can be a life saver. I still have it from my d1 days (and am very tempted to use it for root) but I'll be patient for unrevoked cause I want to keep my data
