Unrooted updates?

Silly question, but is it possible to update to MR2 or MR2.5 if you are unrooted? I came across this: [ROM]RUU_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.20.605.0_Radio_1.16.00.022 3r_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release - xda-developers and excuse my noobness but I don't know what an RUU is. Thanks in advance

RUU stands for Rom Update Utility, I would hold off on doing anything at the moment as we are expecting something official this week rom Verizon. The numbers in the leak you linked to look older than some of the leaks we have seen.

Thanks for clearing that up. Looking at the thread in XDA it looks like the radio is an older firmware where the ROM is newer. I will just hold out for the OTA.

You're welcome. It appears to be an odd combination of build numbers. Also, anytime you use an RUU to flash, it will wipe all data and factory reset the phone. Doing OTA update does not wipe your data.
