I just recently started witnessing my galaxy tablets screen shutting off in the middle of something (or nothing) and when I press the home button it turns back on with an app open I've never seen before. The app has a clock on the left, with the current temp under that, with a calendar under that, and the entire right half of the app is a sketch pad. There's no menus and the only name on the app is a cute at her (really small font directly under the temperature). When I tried to save a "sketch" it said it saved to action memo. It's starting to get really annoying (it's done it three times while writing this) please help. I have a screen shot of the app but not sure how I'd post that on here

Update: nvm, I think somehow "daynote" got enabled and it thinks I was opening the book cover or something. At least I'm hoping that's what it was

Probably Daynotes... Sounds like Daynotes.... You can turn the feature off....

Wish I had application to turn it on, without needing to buy a cover....

The app you're seeing IS Daynote, but disabling it will not cure the 'real' problem: Why is your tablet shutting off the screen in the middle of something?

Some 3rd party covers are known to cause issues with this tablet, especially with S-Pen accuracy and multi-touch issues (the most common problem is that, when the cover is latched onto the back, you can't, for some reason, pull down the notification bar). So it might be that your cover is causing the issue, unless you closed it and opened it, in which case that's just what it is meant to do.

Also, any strong magnets (some people still use those in bracelets or rings) would trigger the 'smart cover' function if you hover them too close to the magnetic sensor in the tablet.
