Starting yesterday, I have been getting these apps icons all over my phone screens! I dragged them to "Remove" but they reappeared today. I have not downloaded anything new. However, there were "updates" made yesterday, but not sure which this could have come from. Here is a screen shot of what I am getting. I am also getting icons for "Zoosk" and "CSR Racing" ...sites/apps I have never visited. I have gone through the Apps Manager and cannot find the source of these to remove them for good! I also checked the downloaded apps, but nothing is there. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

It has to be an applications pushing information to your phone. Which means it will be running in the background.
Settings > applications > running > and see what is running.

Certain apps are known for this like picstitch.
Good luck

Yes, I checked there as well. It just seems like there are a lot there and I am not sure if some are actually valid or if they are part of this issue. I tried to Google the ones with odd names, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Is there a list somewhere of standard GS3 apps/factory installed apps?

Actually, here....
Download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.denper.addonsdetector

It will tell you what is doing it.
Get rid of all the back applications you have.
Here is a good read http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one/312078-dumb-question-about-running-applications-my-htc-one.html

Thanks! I installed the addonsdetector. I am wondering if when the update for Words Free added these ads. That looks like the only change I had yesterday. Not sure if I can reset to an earlier version of the app, i.e. uninstall the last update?

Unfortunately, those ads came back. :-( But it looks like it was the Calculator app that was causing the issues once it updated. So I uninstalled the calculator app. Thanks for the advice!
