Being new to Android,I need a little help. When I download apps on my Nexus 10, I get a copy of the app on my desktop as well as the app in the app folder. How can I delete the desk top app?

go to the playstore settings and check off auto add widget

Press and hold the app and either fling it up past the top of the screen or drag it to the x that will appear near the top
