Unwanted apps

How can I get rid of Motorola Assist and Motorola Contextual Services, please? They keep downloading stuff and mithering about being updated. I don't want them (and they seem to want a whole lot of access to various bits of the MotoG which I'm not happy about).
I tried uninstalling but the Assist app is still present on the Apps page. I've disabled Motorola Contextual Services (MCS) and this doesn't appear on the Apps page anymore, but Assist keeps telling me that I need the latest version of MCS.

Have you tried just disabling them in Settings>apps?

After disabling Motorola Assist you'll find a funny glitch. The battery saver option won't stay on. Nothing terrible, just be aware.

Motorola Assist battery saver is crap anyway. Download greenify.
