Android Central Question

I've got a new Samsung M31 phone (available only from Amazon in the UK) which I'm using with my 3 SIM that I've had for a year or more. I don't use 3's voicemail because I use Hullomail for voicemail.

The problem is I keep getting a notification from the Call Settings app that says New Voicemail Three Mobile. When I tap it it dials into 3's voicemail on a mobile number (not 123) and 3 say I don't have any voicemails.

This notification won't go away, the only way to get rid of it is to go Settings, Apps, Show System Apps and go to Call Settings and click Storage where I click Clear Data and Clear Cache. That makes the problem notification go away but it comes back in due course and if I reboot it comes back immediately.

I'm wondering if anyone has come across and answer to this problem?

Thanks for that reply but I have no item Voicemail anywhere within my Settings. All the setting within the Call Settings system app (which is what is producing these notifications) are greyed out. All I can do is clear storage and cache, which makes it go away but it soon comes back again.

It's Android 10 by the way

Hi there. I am on 3 as well. That mobile number always shows up with a voicemail notification. I have had the ghost voicemail thing before but once I rang in it did seem to clear up. Not sure if 3 are still doing the whole online chat thing instead of telephone support but it may be worth contacting them. It may be something wrong their end. Their agents are usually VERY polite. Not sure how useful, but always polite. And they are based in India where that phone is mainly supplied for, so they may have some experience with it.

I've been in touch with 3 via online chat and without wanting to bore people with all the details, I've concluded that I agree with them that the problem lies with my phone or SIM rather than anything at 3's end so to speak!

I say this firstly because it's a new phone and it didn't happen before with my previous phone and also because I've tried putting a spare 3 SIM I have from my spare phone into my new phone, and when I do that the problem does not happen so I reckon I could ask 3 to give me a new SIM and transfer my number to it like they'd do if I were to have lost or damaged my SIM.

I figured out that if you have that notification and can't clear it, follow these steps.

1- go into apps
2-go to three dots, select show system apps
3-use the search function to type in "call settings", click on it
4-click force stop
5-click on storage
6-clear data

Go back to your notifications to check if it's gone.

Also, you can clear your phone data storage in the same manner except search for phone and clear data in storage on each one you see.
