Unwanted Pre Installed Apps

How do you uninstall them. I am currently running Bugless 0.8.3.

If you go to your Settings, Applications, and hit the Menu button, you can list All. Each one has an uninstall button if it can be uninstalled. Be careful and good luck.

Just took my own advice, nothing that I wanted to uninstall could be. Like Amazon Mp3...I use an ipod, so wouldn't ever buy on the Droid. But can't uninstall it. Your rooters (hackers) can, I bet, but they're playing in a whole 'nuther league.

Yeah Amazon MP3 is one i wanted to remove as well as the IM for Bugless, Corporate Calendar, News and Weather, and Talk....any one?

you cant do it on a stock rom the only roms that ive seen that you have the option to remove these apps are some from the sholes info team and pete had one out also. but for those you have to be rooted and run their custom rom

Download Terminal Emulator

enter the following:
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
cd /system/app
rm com.amazon.mp3.apk
rm CorpCal.apk
mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system

I do not know the name of the rest but if you open Astro
On the top next to the Home button hit Up
Now open System
Then app
You will see a list of the apps that are installed in the system. Write the name down and delete the same way as Amazon and CorpCal.

yeah after reading it again my bad and i forgot he added them back on the later roms before he had them in the data folder to remove what you want. but what da6 pointed out should work

Yup that is the one.

Yeah the one from Jack did it. Sucks the corp email wasn't in the list or was in there cryptic but I did remove some others. Thanks guys. Android Central has the best Droid help on the web.

yeah CorpCal.apk didn't work. Its ok i got some out. Wish, maybe there is a way to clean up the slide out (whats it called?) so there isn't so many items listed. Be nice to create a folder and drop things int there.

anyone know if this has any negative effects on the phone? anything related to warranty info or when the phone gets OTA updated?
