Update Crashed my phone, how can I fix it?

Update Crashed my phone

I updated my Moto E with the newest system update this morning, and since then my phone has not worked. The motion sensor will bring up the time/unlock screen, but when I swipe it it just goes black.
Hitting the lock/power button only changes the phone screen from off, to a brighter black.
I have restarted the phone at least 15 times. I can't even do a factory reset because I can't open the phone to get to the menu.
I would really appreciate an answer, as this is coming at a very bad time.

Welcome to Android Central! Which Moto E, 1st or 2nd gen? Try booting into Recovery and wiping the cache partition--the steps for the X should work for the E: https://motorola-global-portal.cust...prod_answer_detail/a_id/101078/p/30,6720,9197
