Update expectations TAB S2 (SM-T813)

Hi,

I bought this device, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Wi-Fi (2016) SM-T813
last year november.
It was discounted, that's why.

The most recent update was from yesterday, when i installed
the januari 2019 update.

I have googled a bit on this device, and learned that samsung has realeased no more than
5 FW updates over 2018. <link removed>

Question:
What can i expect in terms of FW updates over 2019?
Does this device receives android 8 or 9 updates?

If it hasn't gotten 8 yet, it probably won't. If it doesn't get 8, don't expect 9.

Samsung is notoriously lax with tablet updates, releasing security updates only quarterly rather than monthly, and the Tab S3 (which got Oreo late in 2018) isn't due for Pie until Aug.

I installed LineageOS 16.x on this device.
I am no longer subjected to samsung regarding updates every 3 months.

How's it running? Much performance improvement over stock? Other than the Samsung update issues, what advantages are you seeing over stock? Been a while since I've rooted something and installed a custom ROM - any problems doing it?

It runs smoothly and without any remarkble issue's.
Everything is working.
The advantage that i have is that i am able to remove all google apps, and that this device get's FW update's when google releases bugfixes.

Currently lineageos provides daily updates.
