If your MD5 matched up the first time then you can just use them.

I'm really wondering about how your phone became unbootable w/out flashing anything to the OS - I am very glad you're back in the saddle though!

I'm not quite in the same boat as Misayeh....but mine keeps saying that the update failed and the main version is older. What exactly does that mean? I can still boot into the phone and do things if I wanted to start fresh. But I'm curious why it keeps saying that its failed and that PC36IMG is old or out of date. Any thoughts?

Why this didn't work is because it was for eclair (version 2.1). If you have a brand new phone then you need this. http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc...3-7-hboot2-02-w-screen-shots-1-27-2011-a.html. Just make sure your hboot and everything else matches.
